Crocus heuffelianus ‘Polar King’

The inner and outer segments of this spectacular recent introduction each have a central pale-purple, aubergine-streaked central flame that extends nearly the entire length, against a snow-white ground.  The streaking often condenses dramatically into an irregular blotch toward the tip.  Modified continental/montane.  Zone 4.
